Abbott Laboratories is an American global pharmaceuticals and health care products company founded by Chicago physician Wallace Calvin Abbott in 1888.

The font used for the logo of the company is Clarendon, which is an English slab serif typeface originally drawn by Robert Besley. Hermann Eidenbenz and Edouard Hoffmann cut a version based on the original design in 1953. You can view details about it here.
