American Football is a rock band formed in 1997 from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. The above is the cover artwork of American Football, the debut studio album by the rock band and released on September 28, 1999 through Polyvinyl.

The artwork, photographed by Chris Strong, was of a house located within walking distance of the University of Illinois. The font used for the text on the album art is Imago Book.

Designed by Günter Gerhard Lange and introduced by Berthold in 1982, Imago is a distinguishable sans serif that is narrower in proportion than others and has a square-like shape to its curves and numerals that are slightly shorter than its cap height. Imago is available in Light, Book, Medium, Bold, ExtraBold with matching italics.
