About CNBC Logo Font

cnbc logo

CNBC is an American basic cable and satellite business news television channel that is owned by NBCUniversal News Group, a division of NBCUniversal, owned by Comcast. The network primarily carries business day coverage of U.S. and international financial markets.

The font used for the CNBC logo is very similar to Univers 73 Black Extended, with letters manually extended. Swiss designer Adrian Frutiger designed this popular humanist sans-serif typeface. The font family was updated in 1997 for signage at the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. The new version, Frutiger Next, changed a number of details and added a true italic style in place of the oblique roman of the original.
