Fifty Shades of Grey is a 2011 erotic romance novel by British author E. L. James. It is the first instalment in the Fifty Shades trilogy that traces the deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey.

The font used for the book title in the cover is Archer Book, which is a slab serif typeface designed in 2001 by Tobias Frere-Jones and Jonathan Hoefler. It was originally intended for use in Martha Stewart Living magazine, and was released later by Hoefler & Frere-Jones for commercial licensing.

A film adaption of the book was produced and the film premiered at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival on February 11, 2015. The font used for the title in the official film poster is Didot.
