The Github logotype is set in Collegiate, which is a sans serif created by K-Type, based on the lettering on the mosaic tile badge at Liverpool Collegiate School. You can download the font for free here. For the Github slogan “Social Coding”, it is set in Futura Heavy, which is a commercial font designed by Paul Renner and details about it can be found here.
