About Niggaz Wit Attitudes Font

nwa-straight-outta-compton ALBUM

Niggaz Wit Attitudes (abbreviated as N.W.A) was an American hip hop group that is widely considered to have been among the earliest and most significant popularizers of the gangsta rap and West Coast hip hop subgenres while also being credited by many as one of the seminal groups in the history of hip hop music.

The above is the cover artwork of their debut studio album, Straight Outta Compton, released in 1988. The font used for both the group name and the album title on the cover is Mistral. Designed by Roger Excoffon for the Fonderie Olive type foundry and released in 1953, Mistral is a casual script typeface based on his own handwriting. The stroke of Mistral has an informal graphic quality similar to brush and ink. Its lowercase letters are carefully designed to connect on a line to an extent unusual in script fonts. Descenders are long, which increase the sense of motion.
