About Onkyo Logo Font

onkyo logo font

Onkyo Corporation, founded in 1946, is a Japanese consumer electronics manufacturer, specializing in premium home cinema and audio equipment, including receivers, surround sound speakers and other portable devices.

The Onkyo logo was probably designed based on Clarendon Wide Bold, with the letter “O” slightly modified. Designed by Patrick Griffin from CanadaType, Clarendon Wide is the the wide display companion to Canada Type’s Clarendon Text family. Both fonts are a contemporary remake of the mid-nineteenth century English slab serifs originally conceptualized by Robert Besley.
