About Snakes & Arrows (Rush) Font

rush band font_m

Rush is a Canadian rock band formed in August 1968 in the Willowdale neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario. The band is known for its musicianship, complex compositions, and eclectic lyrical motifs drawing heavily on science fiction, fantasy, history, and philosophy.

The above is the cover artwork of Snakes & Arrows (2007), the nineteenth studio album from the band. The Art Deco style sans serif on the cover is very similar to Mostra Nuova Alt B.

Designed by type designer Mark Simonson, Mostra Nuova is a geometric sans serif based on a style of lettering often seen on Italian Art Deco posters and advertising of the 1930s. The font family contains many alternate characters, representing commonly-found variations in Italian Art Deco lettering. They can be used in endless combinations to capture a particular mood or style.
