The Girl on the Train is a 2015 psychological thriller novel by British author Paula Hawkins. The novel debuted at No. 1 on The New York Times Fiction Best Sellers of 2015 list. Many reviews referred to the book as “the next Gone Girl“, a popular 2012 novel by the writer Gillian Flynn.

The font used for the book title in the cover is Avenir Medium. Avenir is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Adrian Frutiger in 1988 and it takes inspiration from the early geometric sans-serif typefaces like Erbar and Futura.
