Canon was originally named Kwanon, known in Japan as the Buddhist Bodhisattva Guan Yin. That is why the first of its logo is an image of “Kwanon with 1000 arms and flames”with its logotype beneath it. Today the distinctive Canon logo with its vivid red color is familiar to people around the world. The current logo is simply a customized logotype.
