Free State of Jones is a 2016 American war film inspired by the life of Newton Knight and his armed rebellion against the Confederacy in Jones County, Mississippi during the American Civil War. The film was released in the United States by STX Entertainment on June 24, 2016.

Two fonts have been used for the film title in the poster: the “Free State” part is very similar to an inscribed serif font named Silverado Medium Condensed by Steve Jackaman, and the “of Jones” part is set in a free script font named Caligraf 1435 by Galdino Otten.
