Run-DMC was an American hip hop group from Hollis, Queens, New York, founded in 1981 by Joseph Simmons, Darryl McDaniels, and Jason Mizell.

The logo of the band features a grotesque sans serif typeface, which is probably Franklin Gothic originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1902. The logo is probably set in Franklin Gothic Heavy.
