About The Ancient Magus’ Bride Font

The Ancient Magus’ Bride (魔法使いの嫁) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kore Yamazaki. It is serialized in Bushiroad Works’ Comic Growl manga website and is licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment.

The English title used by Seven Seas features Koch-Antiqua, a serif designed by Rudolf Koch and published by the Klingspor Type Foundry in 1922. Kuenstler 165 is a digital version made by Bitstream and it is available in three weights. Koch-Antiqua Zier by Dieter Steffmann and Eve by Castcraft are two free digital versions.

The Japanese logo of the manga series was probably designed based on Reimin, a contemporary Ming-cho typeface from the renowned Japanese foundry Morisawa.
