Moby Dick is a 1956 film adaptation of Herman Melville’s novel Moby-Dick. The film tells the story of Ahab, captain of the whaler Pequod, for revenge on the white whale Moby Dick that destroyed his ship and severed his leg earlier.

The font used for the film title in the poster is probably Futura ExtraBold, a geometric sans-serif typeface designed in 1927 by Paul Renner. Futura is a popular typeface family and is used extensively in advertisements and logos, notably by IKEA (until 2010), Supreme, Party City, Volkswagen, Royal Dutch Shell, Crayola and HP in their print ads.
