Sierra font here refers to the font used in the cover of Sierra magazine, which is the official publication of the Sierra Club, one of the oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organizations in the United States.

The logo of the magazine features a narrow slab serif typeface, which is very similar to Candida Medium Condensed. Designed by J. Erbar for Ludwig & Mayer in 1936, Candida features very small slab serifs and unusually high contrast. The lowercase is slightly condensed, with a tall x-height; the capitals are quite wide.
