The Exorcist is a 1973 horror film based on the 1971 novel of the same name. The film follows the demonic possession of a 12-year-old girl and her mother’s attempt to rescue her through an exorcism conducted by two priests.

The film title lettering on the poster resembles a phototype called Neo Argonaut 2. There is no known digital version of the type. Both the title sequence and the book title used an inscribed serif called Weiss Titling.
