The Initiation is a 1984 slasher film that focuses on a sorority member who has been plagued by a horrifying dream her entire life is stalked by a mysterious murderer in a deserted department store at night.

The font used for the film title on the poster is a slightly modified version of Romic, designed by Colin Brignall in 1979 for Letraset. The taglines on the poster use Benguiat typeface.
