About The Velvet Underground & Nico Font

The Velvet Underground & Nico is the debut album by American rock band the Velvet Underground and German singer Nico, released in March 1967 through Verve Records.

The album’s front cover features Andy Warhol’s famous design of a yellow banana, with the artist’s signature, set in Robert Middleton’s Coronet Bold, in the bottom right corner. On the back cover, a rounded blocky face was used for the album title. The lettering is very similar to Morris Fuller Benton’s Othello, or its digital revival Velvet created by Michael Jarboe.
