About The Wretched of the Earth Font

The Wretched of the Earth (French: Les Damnés de la Terre) is a 1961 book by the philosopher Frantz Fanon, in which the author provides a psychoanalysis of the dehumanizing effects of colonization upon the individual and the nation.

The image above shows the cover of the English edition book translated by Richard Philcox and published by Grove Press in 2004. The cover features John Benson’s Aardvark. Released in 1991, Aardvark is a headline font with woodcut/linocut influence and it has a strong yet informal personality.

Aardvark is currently not available for licensing on the web, and you can find more about this font from this archived page of Linotype.com.
