About Tommy Boy Font

Tommy Boy Entertainment, formerly known as Tommy Boy Records, is an American independent record label started in 1981 by Tom Silverman.

The font used for the Tommy Boy logo is ITC Clearface Black. Clearface was originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for American Type Founders in 1907. In 1978, Victor Caruso was licensed by ATF to develop a new serif typeface based on the forms of Clearface. The result was ITC Clearface, a serif typeface with marked stroke contrast and italic weights.
