Kate Spade New York is an American fashion design house founded as Kate Spade Handbags in January 1993, by Kate Spade. Jack Spade is the name for the Kate Spade brand’s line for men.

The brand name is rendered on all Kate Spade products in all lowercase and the font used for setting the brand name is ITC New Baskerville Roman, which is a contemporary typeface designed by John Quaranda based on the work of John Baskerville (1706-1775), a writing master and printer from Birmingham, England.
