The Smithsonian Institution is a group of museums and research centers, established in 1846 “for the increase and diffusion of knowledge”.

The Smithsonian logo consists of the sunburst logo and the wordmark, which uses the font Minion Pro Regular, an Adobe Originals typeface designed by Robert Slimbach in 1990. More details about the typeface can be found here.
