DC Comics is one of the largest American comic book publishing companies and home to superheroes such as Superman, Batman and Green Lantern etc.

The font used for the DC Comics logotype is probably Gotham Bold from Hoefler & Frere-Jones. The font is a commercial one and you can view more details about the font here.

Update: In 2016, DC Comics dropped the peel-back logo above and introduced a new circled monogram logo designed by Pentagram. The chiseled letters are probably custom drawn and not available as a font.
