The World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that is concerned with international public health. It was established on 7 April 1948, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

The WHO logo consists of its iconic emblem and the wordmark to the right. The emblem consists of the United Nations symbol surmounted by a staff with a snake coiling round it. The staff with the snake has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession. The font for the wordmark is very similar to Frutiger Bold Condensed designed by the legendary type designer Adrian Frutiger.
