About I Love NY Font

I Love New York is an advertising campaign for the New York City. The trademarked logo was designed by Milton Glaser and has been used since the 1970s to promote tourism in New York City.

The logo consists of the capital letter I, then followed by a red heart symbol, and beneath the letter I and the heart symbol are the capital letters N and Y. The font used for the three letters is very similar to a rounded slab serif font called American Typewriter designed by Joel Kaden and Tony Stan in 1974.
